Hunting and mainland fishing
Hunting and fishing are activities involving large numbers of people and financial resources. They are also carried out over large areas of land managed essentially for these activities, whilst at the same time contributing to population control, a factor of particular importance in the case of invasive species. Hunting and fishing are services that require the resources provided by land and water ecosystems. Just like the other species whose habitat they share, the population and health of both game and fish species are affected by climate change.
Awareness of the impact of climate change on hunting and fishing activities is essential in order to ensure their sustainable management within a context of taking advantage of this resource whilst at the same time guaranteeing the conservation of the environment.
